LinkedIn Recruiting Solutions offers several ways that individuals and large corporations can better leverage the active and passive job seekers on LinkedIn to fill open positions in their organizations. The individual and small business offering comes in the form of Talent Finder premium accounts.

LinkedIn offers three types of paid accounts for individuals or small businesses that are serious about using LinkedIn for recruiting and need more functionality than the free LinkedIn account. These three accounts are Talent Basic, Talent Finder, and Talent Pro. Each of these accounts is discussed in detail in Chapter 16. For now, it’s important to understand the basic ways that a paid Talent Finder account can help you as a hiring manager.

With a paid Talent Basic, Talent Finder, or Talent Pro account you can do the following:

Send an increased quantity of InMails.

Use premium search filters.

View more candidates when you conduct searches.

Search for candidates within groups.

Access folders to manage your recruiting efforts with your colleagues.

Allow people outside your network to contact you with OpenLink, which is discussed in more detail in Chapter 16.

See names of third-degree and group connections.

See who has viewed your profile.

Receive more alerts when new candidates meet your job-posting criteria.

Use the Reference Search tool.

Get priority customer service.

DEFINITION
The OpenLink network is open to premium LinkedIn account holders. If you’re in the OpenLink network, anyone on LinkedIn can send you free messages (even if they are not in your extended network) and you can send free messages to all OpenLink members.

The benefits of paying for a Talent Basic, Talent Finder (recommended by LinkedIn for advanced functionality at a more affordable price), or Talent Pro account are that you have more control over your talent search and recruiting activities. The abilities to send InMail messages, use OpenLink network capabilities, view more candidates through searches, get alerts when new clients match your criteria, and use the Reference Search tool are particularly helpful in communicating with LinkedIn members who are actively looking for jobs as well as those who are passive job seekers.

Many people on LinkedIn might have the skills you need but are not actively looking for a new job right now. However, if the right job is presented to them, they might just change their minds.
