1. Visualize your group’s work with a kanban board to see the flow. Don’t be afraid of adding wait or decision states if they exist.
2. Look at your board and ask the work group this question: “What data do we want to measure?” I recommend you measure cycle time for wait states as a minimum.
3. Ask how often your group needs to problem-solve as a group. Use that cadence to create group meetings where you can review the board and update the data. You might decide to retrospect at least that often or select another cadence for retrospectives.
