1. Does your project have a product owner—a full-time product owner—who can work with the team to create stories, accept those stories, and refine them based on feedback? If not, that’s a huge impediment and I recommend you work on that first.
2. Ask the product owner and the team to think about sets of features and how to tease the features apart so the product owner can rank them.
3. Help everyone think “how little” instead of “how much” by working with the product owner or asking the product owner to create the smallest stories that still have value to some person.
