In this chapter we’ll set up the development environment to use the latest version of Entity Framework, and then we’ll build our first model.
We’ll start by making sure we have all the bits and pieces we’ll need by installing NuGet, the latest version of Entity Framework, and the sample database.
Next we’ll build a simple model using a wizard and write some code to load and display some data.
Of course, you’re not reading this book to learn how to follow directions, so we’ll back up and look at what we’ve done.
Make A Note
In this chapter we’re going to take a whirlwind tour of the development process using Entity Framework. Don’t worry if you find some of the steps a little (or a lot) confusing—we’ll back up and go through everything here in more detail in the rest of the book.
