Partitioning entities

Partitioning entities is the reverse of splitting entities. When you work with split entities, you’re combining multiple tables into a single conceptual entity. When you partition entities, you’re creating two separate entities from a single table. Here’s an example:

The basic steps for partitioning an entity are similar to splitting an entity, but two of the steps are usually done in a different order, and there’s one extra one:
