Where to Get Plug-Ins

Commercial plug-in sets, such as the KPT, Andromeda, Splat!, and Eye Candy packages described in this hour, can be found in mail-order catalogs or at your friendly local computer dealer (who'll be even friendlier when you start buying all these goodies). Most can also be bought online from the software publishers, downloaded, and used right away.

On the other hand, you needn't spend a lot of money. It often amazes me how very many talented and generous people there are who not only write useful software, but then turn around and give it away or sell it for such a pittance that they might as well be giving it away. I am speaking, of course, of shareware, and its authors who spend many long nights polishing a program and then uploading it to the Web. If you go searching in appropriate areas for Macintosh or Windows software, you should find plenty of new and useful Photoshop plug-ins.

Finding Filters

I did a Google search on Photoshop plug-in and got back a list of thousands of sites that were triggered by that combination of keywords. The following are some good ones to get you started:
