Few things could be simpler than installing an individual filter. Place it in the Adobe Photoshop CS2Plug-InsFilters directory. Then launch Photoshop, and the new filter will appear in the list under the Filter menu. If you purchase a set of filters, such as Alien Skin's Xenofex 2, there's an installer included, which automatically places the filters where they belong. Installed third-party filters appear in the filter list after Photoshop's native filters. Try not to get too carried away. You can have so many that the list runs off the screen. Figure 19.1 shows my current collection.
