LinkedIn Signal

LinkedIn offers a handy search feature called Signal that can help you find relevant news and updates. You can access Signal from the News drop-down menu in the top navigation bar when you’re logged in to your LinkedIn account, or you can scroll to the updates section on your LinkedIn Home page to view and filter updates and tweets using Signal search features.

For example, click the Signal link under the News drop-down menu to open the main Signal search page shown in Figure 13.12.

Figure 13.12: Search for news and updates using Signal search filters.

Just type keywords into the search box in the top left of the LinkedIn Signal page to bring up related results. You can filter results by network, company, location, industry, time published, geographic region, school, and more.

Signal is updated in real-time, so when new content is published related to your search, an alert is displayed at the top of the page to show you that new links and content are available. You can also save searches so you can access them quickly at any time. Want to keep tabs on what people are talking about and sharing related to your company or a competitor? Create a search and save it to review each day using Signal.

Signal allows you to more effectively use LinkedIn and LinkedIn Today to cut through activity clutter and focus on the information that matters to you most.
