The following is a fictional test of the actual Amazon.com website. This is a very abbreviated sample of potential testing, and one in which you can pretend to be the participant. The idea is to let you experience what website testing might be like. This test has no association to Amazon, the company, and was created specifically for this book, as an example. By the time you read this, the site has most probably changed, but that is immaterial to the general principals illustrated in the example.
This example also points to the fact that testing is not reserved only to new products in development, but is also used to evaluate refinements and updates to existing products.
