Introduction

As the name suggests, this section provides an overall summary of a testing plan document. We can include subsections under this section, which can provide details about test plan document objectives, scope, environment details, and required testing resources:

  • Objectives: This section should provide the objective of the testing plan. We can include details about the proposed system and the tools that will be used to develop the proposed system. For example, in our case, we can include details here about what HIMBAP Auto Service Center is and what we are planning to achieve using Dynamics 365 CE. The following are some of the objectives of a good testing plan:
  • To test the proposed system against functional and non-functional requirements.
  • To make sure that we meet quality specifications provided by the customer.
  • Issues should be identified and recorded for reporting purposes.
  • All issues should be fixed before going live.
  • It should also include details about UAT activities.
  • Testing Environment: This section should provide details about the environment where we are going to perform testing, as well as access information.
  • Scope: The scope of the test plan defines what needs to be tested. Here, we mention which of the functional or non-functional requirements are in scope, as well as which of the functional and non-functional requirements are out of scope.
  • Team members: Here, we provide team member details about the testing team who are going to perform testing and what their role in the team is.
