Many businesses spin their wheels every year by mass marketing to a geographic area as if everyone living in the area is a potential customer. The reality is that most businesses need a more focused approach: they need to define a target market to sell products and services to.

This is no different with Facebook—not everyone with a Facebook account is a potential customer. In fact, when you consider that Facebook has hundreds of millions of users, you really have to get into the zone and define your target market, or the people who are the most likely to buy from you.
