Configuring the timeline control

Here, we will go through the configuration of a timeline control in Dynamics CRM:

  1. Navigate to Settings | Customizations | Customize the System:
  1. The default solution will pop up in a window. Expand Entities | Opportunity and select Controls:
  1. On the Controls tab, select Add Control:
  1. Select Calendar Control and click Add:
  1. On the Controls tab. Please select the radio button choices for phone and tablet for the control. Note that Start Date and Description are required properties for this control. Fill in the properties and bind them to fields. In our case, Start Date is bound to the Modified on field and Description is bound to the Name field:
Optionally, you can also fill in other properties on the control such as End Date, Duration, and so on.
  1. Click Save and then Publish:
  1. Sarah now navigates back to the Dynamics 365 phone app installed on her phone to check the user experience for her sales team. The Dynamics 365 for Phones instantly suggests her to download the new customizations. Tap Download:
  1. The Dynamics CRM phone app will now download the customizations. Once completed, navigate to Opportunities:
  1. Instead of a list, Opportunities will now be presented in a calendar format:
