Roy is very happy with the mobile and tablet previews available for the Account form and wishes to configure the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 app for phones on his Android device and to connect it against his organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 online instance. Here are the steps he needs to follow:
- Navigate to the Google Play app on your Android phone and search for dynamics crm - you will be presented with multiple apps for Dynamics CRM:
- Select Dynamics 365 for Phones and click Install:
- Certain permissions need to be given before the Dynamics 365 for Phones will start downloading. Please Accept for giving the necessary permissions:
- The Dynamics 365 for Phones app will start downloading now. Once the app is downloaded and installed, select Open:
- The Dynamics 365 for Phones app will now ask the user to enter the CRM organization URL to connect to. Please specify your organization URL in the intended format and tap on the arrow:
In order to connect on-premise CRM to mobile apps, the Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) is required.
- In the next step, you need to enter the username and password for the app to get configured and connected. Specify the required credentials and click Sign in:
- The Dynamics CRM phone app will start the configuration process now. You will need to wait on the following screen until the configurations are completed:
- Once the configurations are completed, you will land on a CRM dashboard:
- Tapping the second button on top will expand a list of entities that can be selected. Pick Accounts:
- You are now presented with a list of accounts:
These steps enable Roy to download, install, and configure the app on a mobile or tablet device. Similar steps need to be followed to install the Dynamics CRM app on iOS or Windows platforms. The Dynamics CRM tablet app can also be configured on Android, iOS, and Windows platforms using the preceding steps.
