Scenario 3 – feedback

Lisa, who is the CRM administrator at Acme Ltd, has been asked by the marketing manager to find some way to collect internal feedback from the marketing executives at Acme Ltd on the recent campaigns run by the company for their customers. Feedback can be used to provide a solution to this. It can store the responses received from the recent campaigns.

Lisa can follow these steps to fulfill this requirement:

  1. Navigate to Settings | Customizations | Customize the System. Expand the Entities | Campaign entity. Select Feedback on the entity customizations:
  1. Click Save and then Publish:
  1. Next, navigate to Campaign Entity | Forms and select the Campaign main form:
  1. Select Insert and then the subgrid option. Give the name as Feedback and select the Feedback entity from the dropdown for a list of related entity records:
  1. Click OK, save the Form Editor, and click Publish:

Note that to allow any Security role to give feedback, the Security role needs to have privilege on the Feedback entity available. For instance, here on the Marketing Professional security role, enabling the privileges for the Feedback entity is as follows:

Now, let's see Feedback in action.

If you navigate to any of the campaign forms, you will be able to see the campaign form with a subgrid for Feedback, as follows:

Clicking the + button on the top right of the subgrid will open up a feedback form:

Click on + New to add a new feedback:

This feedback can later be collated to provide insights in the form of charts. Initially, the feedback is in a proposed state.

While reviewing the feedback, the marketing manager can come and set the final review status for the feedback to Accepted on the Status Reason option present on the header of the feedback and save the feedback:

Optionally, the marketing manager may decide to close or reject the feedback by clicking Deactivate and then choosing the option, as follows:

The feedback functionality can be used for other CRM modules, such as Sales, Service, and so on. The business scenario we just discussed is only to showcase the functionality with respect to the Marketing module.
