A macro is a function that is not part of the standard set of ER/Studio functionality, which automates or simplifies complex or repetitive tasks. For example, there is a macro in ER/Studio that allows you to convert all names to uppercase or lowercase. ER/Studio comes with over 50 macros and you can also create your own. We will talk about running, creating, editing, deleting, and renaming macros in this chapter.
