Naming Standards

What should I call it?

ER/Studio provides support for naming standards through the Naming Standards Template and Naming Standards Utility. The Naming Standards Template allows you to define many standards across your organization, including an abbreviation list used to automatically convert logical to physical names and vice versa, and case, name length, and prefix standards. The Naming Standards Utility is used to apply the naming standards templates to a model or objects within a model.

This chapter will explain how to use the Naming Standards Template and Naming Standards Utility, as well as how to assign naming standards to objects.
