With the Outlook 2007 calendar, you can set up, manage, view, and set reminders for important meeting dates, events, and other activities. When you’re working in Project 2007, you can set Outlook reminders to alert you when tasks need to start or finish.
To set an alert with an Outlook 2007 reminder, do the following:
In Project 2007, on the View menu, click Gantt Chart.
Select the task or tasks for which you want to set up reminders. Hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple tasks.
Choose View, Toolbars, Customize. Click the Commands tab, and then click Tools. Drag the Set Reminder button to a toolbar. Click Close. Click the Set Reminder button to display the Set Reminder dialog box.
Set the reminder options you want for the tasks. For example, to get a reminder two days before a task is scheduled to finish, type 2, select Days in the drop-down list, and then select Finish in the Before The n Of The Selected Tasks drop-down list.
Click OK.
