Start this little guy by blocking in the body using basic shapes.
Add the wings and beak, and start fleshing out the feet and chest. Indicate the ground.
Designate areas of light and shadow on the wing and head, and shade the body and feet with hatchmarks. Then add the beady eye.
Shade the wings, head, and feet, following the guidelines from the last step. Use short strokes for the fur on the chest and shade the crack in the ground. Finish by adding a cast shadow on the ground with hatchmarks.
