Adding a Title 275
Adding a Title
Now that you’ve added this great background picture, you can add a title on
top of it using one of iMovie’s built-in animated title effects.
1 Click the Titles button or press Command-3 to open the Titles Browser.
Move your pointer over the different titles to see the animated effects.
2 Drag the Soft Edge title onto the center of the still image at the beginning
of the project.
The title is automatically placed above the clip, and the text becomes vis-
ible in the Viewer.
3 Click the text in the Viewer to select it, type Bhutan: Land of the Thunder
Dragon, and then press Return.
276 Hollywood, Here I Come: Creating Visual Effects
Some of the words you typed may not be visible. iMovie allows you to
customize the font, color, and size so all of your text fits on the screen.
4 Click the Fonts button in the upper-left corner of the Viewer.
The iMovie Fonts window appears. This window is interactive.
5 Move your pointer over the different fonts, colors, and font sizes to pre-
view how your title looks in each of those settings.
As you drag from left to right over the box containing the font, color, or
size in the Fonts window, you skim the title to see the animation in effect.
6 Choose Impact, Yellow, and font size 3, and then click Done.
You can customize which fonts and colors appear in the Fonts
window in iMovie preferences.
