22 Importing and Organizing Your Photos
Skimming an Event
Large key photos become particularly useful when you want to skim the con-
tents of an Event quickly. Skimming an Event shows you the Event’s contents
without actually opening the Event up. Because all of the Events remain dis-
played in the viewing area, you can get a look at the contents of several Events
quickly and easily.
To locate a photo by skimming an Event, and to display that photo in iPhoto’s
viewing area, do the following:
1 Move your pointer horizontally over the Event key photo.
As the pointer moves from one side of the key photo area to the other,
the area displays the different pictures contained in the Event, one by
one. iPhoto also displays the Event’s date and the number of pictures it
contains.

2 When the photo you want to display appears as the key photo, double-
click the Event.
3 Use the scrollers at the right of the viewing area to see more pictures if
they don’t all fit.
