56 Reviewing and Improving Your Photos
You can click in the Navigation window to change what part of
the magnified image is displayed.
8 Click the black-and-red butterfly photo, and then click the close button at
the top left of the white border surrounding the photo.
Only two photos are displayed.
NOTE
When you view two or more images in full-screen view, the
selected image is always surrounded by a white border that has a close
button. If only one image is displayed, there is no border.
9 Press Escape.
The full-screen view is replaced with the normal view.
You can also click the close button at the right side of the full-
screen toolbar to dismiss the full-screen view.
As you can see, the full-screen view can give you a very close look at your
photos without any distractions.
Rating Your Photos
You can assign star ratings to your pictures so you can see at a glance
which ones are your really exceptional pictures and which are your not-
so-exceptional pictures. Ratings help you find the best (or worst) pictures in
your library more quickly.
Let’s assign star ratings to a few of the pictures in the Saint Martin Event:
1 Choose View > Rating or press Command-Shift-R.
Nothing much changes if you haven’t rated any pictures yet. However,
if your pointer is over a photo, or if a photo is selected, you’ll see five dots
below the photo, indicating that the photo has no stars.
