LCS Business process modeler and VSTS

You may be wondering where and which tool to use to capture detailed information about business processes and requirements. While traditionally Excel, SharePoint, Team Foundation Services (TFS), and various other tools were being leveraged, there came a need to have a tool that would facilitate this information capture quickly and with high productivity. The place for such a tool has been filled with BPM in LCS.

It's easy to manage your business process, subprocess, and requirements in LCS BPM and use them throughout the implementation and after implementation. Based on our experience, the following are the top level steps involved in utilizing LCS BPM in your implementation:

As shown in the preceding image, using LCS, you can create business processes specific to your implementation project. The next step is to set up the VSTS project and link it with VSTS. You can further synchronize the BPM with LCS and then add the requirements. Synchronization with VSTS provides a collaborative environment for further planning and tracking work throughout the lifecycle of the project. In the following subsections, let's take a deeper look into the BPM library and the VSTS integration and synchronization features in LCS.
