When you look at columns and rows stacked full of numbers, it isn’t always immediately clear what those numbers represent. Do they indicate currency? Are they percentages of something? You can improve the readability of your workbook by using standard numeric formatting to make everything as clear as possible.
Select the columns, rows, or cells that contain numbers that will all be formatted in the same way.
Use the buttons on the Formatting toolbar to modify the numeric formatting.
If the formatting isn’t what you want, click the Format Cells: Number button.
On the Number tab of the Format Cells dialog box that appears, select the type of formatting you want.
Select any available options you want to use to customize the formatting.
