Using Your Tablet to Display a Show on Your TV

As mentioned earlier, you can view videos you rent from YouTube or the Android Market on an HDTV. However, there are a few requirements for doing so. First, you must use the Video app, even if you rented the movie from YouTube instead of the Android Market. Second, you need to have an HDTV that supports HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection). Third, you must have the proper HDMI cable to connect your tablet to your TV. Fortunately, most recent HDTVs are capable of this.

Once you’ve connected your tablet to an HDTV, you should see the same thing on both screens. If you can’t hear any audio, make sure your TV is set to use the HDMI as the TV input.

NOTE: The display port on the Motorola Xoom only outputs 720p, even if your video source is 1080p.
