I covered the Web version of Google Calendar in some detail because understanding how that version works will help you understand how it works on your tablet. You can also use Google Calendar’s Web version from your browser. It looks great on ten-inch tablets.
TIP: If you launch Google Calendar from your Browser app, and you see a clunky mobile version of the interface, just tap the Desktop
link at the bottom of the page.
However, the go-to app for using Google Calendar on tablets is the Calendar app.
Many tablets include a shortcut for the Calendar app on the Home screen. Figure 10–3 shows the basic layout of this app.
As you can see, the layout of the tablet’s Calendar app is a little different from that of the Web version. It’s simplified, clean, and designed to be used by swiping and tapping with your fingers rather than clicking with a mouse.
You can navigate between Day, Week, and Month views. Notice that there’s no Agenda or 5 Day view in the app.
TIP: You navigate between next and previous days and weeks using a side-to-side swiping motion; however, you navigate between next and previous months using an up and down dragging motion.
