Filtering Contacts

If you’ve got a lot of contacts, you’ll want some easy ways to sort through them. For example, you can use the search feature to locate a contact. However, sometimes you might not remember the name of someone, or you might actually be looking for a group of people. That’s where filters come in.

When you’re looking at your contact list, there’s an Action bar item on the upper left Image that lets you choose which contacts to view. The default is All contacts, but you can tap to choose only to display the contacts from a specific account or a specific group within an account. For instance, Figure 9–4 lists only the Twitter accounts.

If you want to take it a step further, you can create a custom view of specific groups within your contacts, such as Friends and Family, but not Coworkers (see Figure 9–5).
