Arcade Classics
Another typical type of game is the nostalgic arcade classic. It’s even a category in the Android Market. There are both paid and free apps in this category, and there are both official and unofficial remakes of classic arcade games. There are several unofficial remakes of Space Invaders and pinball games of all stripes; and Namco has made official versions of PAC-MAN and Ms. PAC-MAN, although you’ll need to double check to make sure they’re compatible with your device.
NOTE: Read the review comments and check for a free version before downloading a paid app. Otherwise, you may be burned by an app that doesn’t work, doesn’t scale well, or isn’t as fun as you’d imagined.
Tetris
One classic arcade game that has made a great comeback is Tetris by Electronic Arts. EA makes both a free and US $2.99 paid version of the app.
It may take a few rounds to get used to tapping and dragging to manipulate the tiles into position; however, the game is as addictive on a tablet as it was in arcades and on desktop computers.
