Wallpapers

The final element to explore in the Home screen customization interface is wallpapers. Wallpapers change the background on your Home screens. Wallpapers change every screen; there’s no way to change one screen and leave the other four untouched.

When you launch the Home screen customization interface and select the Wallpapers option (see Figure 7–8), you’ll see three basic choices for the types of wallpapers you can add.

The three basic types of wallpaper are as follows:

  • Gallery These are pictures from your personal image gallery that you’ve taken on your tablet’s camera or downloaded into your camera’s folder.
  • Live Wallpapers These are animated wallpapers that run in the background and may react to system events like music playing or your geographic location. They also use more battery juice.
  • Wallpapers These are images downloaded specifically to be wallpaper images. You start out with several choices, and you can download more from third parties. They’re not animated images, but they also don’t drain your battery.

Follow these basic steps to pick a wallpaper:

  1. Tap a type of wallpaper (gallery, live wallpaper, wallpaper).
  2. Browse to find your specific selection.
  3. In the case of Live Wallpapers, you’ll have to confirm your choice. Otherwise, your wallpaper will already be set.
