The Contact App

You can access your contacts by tapping the Contacts app. Image

The interface is similar to that of the Email and Gmail apps. You’ve got a list of contacts on the left that you can scroll through by dragging your finger. On the right, you can see the details for the currently selected contact.

Along the top of the screen, there are buttons to filter, search, add, and edit contacts. Figure 9–1 shows the basic layout.

When you view a contact, you’ll notice that there are symbols along the right. Those symbols let you make instant contact by whatever method you have listed for your contact. You can potentially email, instant message, Skype, video chat, and Tweet with a contact. If you list an address, you can find the location on Google Maps. You may see an instant messaging or Twitter status displayed underneath the contact’s name. You may even have more options, depending on the apps you have installed on your tablet.

However, even if you have a phone number listed, you can’t call a contact unless your tablet supports voice calls.
