Search

It just wouldn't be a Google-designed OS if it didn't search. You can use the Browser app to search the Web using Google. However, there's another way to do it.

Honeycomb tablets by default have a Google Search widget on the upper-left corner of the Home screen. You can use this to search the Web or search through your contacts, calendar entries, apps, and more.

As you start typing, your tablet will make suggestions from all the stored content on your device. The image on the right shows the possibilities for just “an.” Notice how many of those suggestions are from books stored in the Kindle Reader and how many of them are apps.

Tap a word suggestion from the column on the left or tap an app or document suggestion on the right to launch it. Tap the item (with the Star icon) on the top of that list to do a quick Web search.

NOTE: Some tablets may have Bing or other search engines installed by default. You can usually override this by downloading the Google Search app, but you can't delete the Bing app.
