Channel Apps

The Syfy channel has an example of an app dedicated to programming on a specific channel. The purpose of the app is to encourage you to view shows on TV, so the Video button only shows promotional clips instead of full videos. You can use the Schedule button to view upcoming episodes and put them on your tablet’s calendar as events (see Figure 19–3).

Similar apps are available for other channels, including the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, and even local stations.

A few channel apps, such as the Smithsonian Channel, allow you to watch full episodes directly from your tablet.
