Third-Party Photo Apps

You can edit and share your photos using a wide variety of third-party photo apps. For example, even Adobe has a free Photoshop Express app for Android. The app, which is shown in Figure 20–10, does not have all the features and tools you might be familiar with from desktop versions of similar software. However, it does allow you to apply quick effects and upload and share photos through www.photoshop.com.

Photobucket users will appreciate the Snapbucket app. It allows you to snap photos with a custom-camera interface or import existing photos. You can use it to apply a wide variety of filters, and then upload your photos to your Photobucket account.

At the time of writing, the app is not optimized for tablets; for example, it still somewhat stubbornly offers all its features in a vertical interface.

One of my favorite photo-editing apps is PicSay Pro. This app is available in both free trial and paid versions; the paid version costs US $4.13. You can use this app to make serious photo corrections, such as red-eye reduction or sepia filters; however, you can also add word balloons, hats, fake mustaches, and other fun items to pictures, and then export them back to the Gallery app or a photo-sharing site (see Figure 20–11).

NOTE: You can also use Google’s web-based photo-editing app, Picnik; however, there isn’t a separate, local client for this app, so you’ll need to upload your photos to Picasa or Flickr before you can edit them with Picnik.
