Integration with Other Microsoft Applications

One of the primary advantages of Microsoft Lync over competing products in the unified communications arena is integration with other Microsoft applications. Not only do other Microsoft applications provide functionality within Lync, but Lync was also designed to create hooks into other popular Microsoft software. The end result is that information stored in other applications such as Exchange and SharePoint can be accessed within Lync, and on the other end rich Presence information stored within Lync can be shared with other applications. With Lync Server 2013, Microsoft is continuing to leverage integration points within their portfolio to provide additional value across the software stack.
