Integration Features

Lync Online offers client software integration features that are similar to Lync on-premise. Lync Presence information is embedded into other applications that are included in Office 2007 and above. Single-click scheduling of online meetings is available in Outlook. If Exchange Online is also used, Presence status is automatically updated based on Exchange calendar information, and IM and Presence are made available from Outlook Web App. If SharePoint Online is also used, presence indicators are also displayed in SharePoint. However, the Lync Skill Search feature is not available with Lync Online.


Note

Lync Online also supports interoperability with on-premise deployments of Exchange (2007 and above) and SharePoint. Lync Presence indicators in SharePoint Online and Outlook are available only on systems where the Lync client is installed.
