Defining Business Requirements for High-Availability and Disaster Recovery

For a Lync Server 2013 deployment of any type to be successful, the person deploying the technology must first understand the business requirements for the solution. Not only is this important for defining functional requirements, but the business must also be consulted on the SLA requirements for the environment. Organizations must plan and document the availability requirements of the Lync infrastructure, as well as the disaster recovery requirements. For disaster recovery, there are two key requirements that must be identified, recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO).
