Testing and Measuring Performance

With all deployments, but particularly virtual deployments, performance testing should be done before deployment to ensure that the infrastructure meets the performance objectives. Due to potential changes in the environment (additional servers being added to hosts, or to backend storage, for example), performance should continue to be monitored in production. In particular, paying attention to the following performance counters is valuable:

• Processor; % Processor Time (_Total)

• Process; % Processor Time (RtcSrv)

• Process; % Processor Time (IMMcuSvc)

• Memory; Pages/sec ---

• Network Interface; Bytes Total/sec ([your network adapter])

Further details of Lync Server role-specific performance monitoring counters can be found in TechNet documentation.
