File Share Permissions

Lync Server 2013 utilizes a file share for each pool for many scenarios. This includes conferencing, configuration replication, address book, and many other critical tasks. These file shares have strict permission requirements, and Lync Server 2013 will assign permissions to these file shares during the deployment of your Topology.

When deploying any Lync Server 2013 topology changes, the administrator must make sure that they have read/write access to the file shares in the topology. When the administrator publishes a topology change, the topology publisher will validate permissions on the file shares.

Tip

If the file-share permissions are ever changed by accident, simply publish the Lync Server topology again and these permissions will be re-created.
