Role-Based Access Control

As originally introduced in Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013 has the concept of role-based access control. RBAC allows for a degree of flexibility in management of the infrastructure simply not possible with a traditional approach to administration control. In prior versions of the product, an administrator typically had full control of the environment and was able to modify any part of a deployment. With RBAC, permissions can be defined in a more granular method so that different levels of administrators can be delegated specific settings to manage.
