Voice Policies

The voice policy in Lync is used to control class of service, or calling capabilities, and is the only other voice routing object assigned directly to users. Voice policies have two pieces of configuration. The first is a set of true or false values indicating which features a user has available. This includes capabilities such as call forwarding, simultaneous ringing, PSTN reroute, or delegate access. The second facet of the voice policy dictates which numbers a user can call, and what route the call should use.

Voice policies are discussed in more detail after PSTN usages and routes are covered. It is important to know the purpose of all three of these objects in order to understand how they work together to place a call. For right now, know that the voice policy holds an ordered list of PSTN usages.
