Lync Online Clients
The same Lync 2010 and 2013 client software is used for Lync Online and Lync on-premise. All the basic features of Lync are available to Lync Online users, including IM and Presence, peer-to-peer and multiparty audio and video calls, online meetings (both scheduled and ad hoc), and content sharing. In addition to the Lync client software, Lync Web App Client software is available for external users for attending online meetings. Lync Phone Edition devices are supported for use with the Lync-to-phone feature. The mobile device clients that are supported for use with Lync on-premise are also supported for use with Lync Online, including Windows Phone 7, iPhone, Android, and iPad.
Note
Although multiparty video is supported, Lync Online does not support interoperability with third-party, room-based conferencing systems.
