Reverse Proxy Interface
This certificate should be issued by a public certificate authority. The specific requirements for subject names and subject alternative names for the certificate on a reverse proxy are outlined next. The same certificate and private key should be exported and installed on each member of the same Edge Server pool.
• Reverse Proxy—The subject name should match the published name of the external web services FQDN. The subject alternative name should contain any simple URLs for dial-in, online meetings, and an entry for lyncdiscover.<SIP Domain> for each supported SIP domain.
Organizations can reduce the number of certificates from a public certificate authority by simply including the reverse proxy naming requirements as additional subject alternative names used for the external Edge Server interface. The same public certificate can then be deployed to the Edge Servers and reverse proxy.
