Click in Empty Space

Another key option is the ability to locate the cursor when clicking in empty space. This option is found in Preferences>Transport. When this option is checked, clicking empty space in the event display area will cause the cursor to snap to that position. (See Figure 5.5.) This is super convenient when doing a bunch of editing since you do not need to move the mouse up to the ruler or use any key commands to move the cursor to a nearby location. I often create a blank track just below where I am editing to provide me some empty space where I can use this feature.
