Along with the functional and database information, you may also need information on the infrastructure and the network connectivity, so you may need to prepare another list of questions which will be asked of network guys or infrastructure guys. Following is a list of questions which you can ask:

• What is the size of the hardware in terms of CPU, RAM, and HDD?
• Is the hardware a physical server or a virtual machine?
• Is it going to be available on premise or on cloud?
• Are the server ports open? If not, then it may require opening a couple of ports.
• Is the server part of a domain?
• Is the server accessible from the internet?
• Can we give a DNS to the server?
• Is reverse proxy needed?
• Do you have a domain controller like Active Directory?
• Are there multiple domains?
• Is the domain accessible from the Qlik Server?
• Do you need to have a clustered environment for Qlik or a standalone installation?
• What will be the backup strategy be for the installation and data?
• Is any version controlling software, like tortoise, being used in the organization, like tortoise?

The previous listed are just sample questions which you can ask to respective user groups, but they are not the only questions. You may change them, add to them, or remove couple of them, depending on the industry or the organization for which you are implementing the Qlik solution.

As a consultant, you should always remember that to get maximum information from business users, you need to think as they think and see the data as they see. You may find it difficult to get the answers to your questions or any further help from a couple of business users, because they may feel insecure about the BI automation activity, but you need to make them understand and agree that it will help them to increase their productivity. For any business users, their KRA (Key Result Area) / KPA (Key Performance Area) is more important than anything, so you need to align your requirements and questions such that they see that their KRA is getting achieved by doing this activity.
