Just like it's good for a doctor to study the medical history of a patient before prescribing a medicine, a consultant must be aware of the existing BI systems being used.

If a doctor is not aware of the medical history, it can be dangerous. The patient may be allergic to certain drugs or the prescription may need to be altered if the patient has high blood sugar or high blood pressure. If the patient is already on medication, a prescription may have adverse reactions if the doctor hasn't taken due diligence.
