Change in source can happen when the source application vendor releases patches or newer versions. This can have an impact on the existing Qlik Sense application. The change management for such situations must be taken care of. Again as a best practices the changes should be done on a test environment first.

Newer sources too can get added, such as competition info, which was earlier not available. This information becomes useful to the customer for comparing performance with other competitors.  An example would be a pharma company getting information of sales of other pharma company from a third party source. Another example could be a company wanting to bring in data from Facebook page or twitter handle to understand their customers sentiments.  Although these additions are referred to as change requests but still they relate to an existing application and hence proper maintenance is required.
