We all know RAM. In brief, it is the storage location on the machine which allows faster access to the data stored within and thus allows faster calculations to be performed on the data.

Qlik is an in-memory data discovery tool. When we say in-memory, it means it stores the data in RAM of the machine and does all the required calculations, like aggregations and other calculations, in RAM, which makes the response of the result of the calculation faster. That is the reason why Qlik gives a faster response even when the data size is huge.

Thus, while designing the architecture of the Qlik hardware, it is important that you know how much RAM will be required.
