Application data is nothing but the base data which is used to create the dashboard on Qlik Sense site. Depending on the requirement, the dashboard may data present either in QVD and/or from Excel and/or text files.

Backup of the folder which contains this data is important because when you reload the Qlik Sense application, it will need all these files required to refresh the dashboard.
