Therapeutic Areas or TA are the various areas of diseases and therapy. Some of examples are oncology, urology, cardio vascular, ophthalmology, neurology, rheumatology, and orthopedics. A pharma company may have products for all the TA or some of them.

For future growth and expansion, a pharma company should look at getting into newer TA.
