A good HR department will always value the importance of training. With changing market dynamics and changing technology, companies must invest in training their people.

Different functions will have different needs and thus HR has to manage this part well. A lot of analysis needs to be done before HR decides to invest in training. The past training courses and benefits resulting from them need to be analyzed. The performance of an employee will also depend on the effectiveness of earlier training.

Training options will be many but identifying effective training methods and identifying the right trainer is a task in itself. The consultant should strive to make this analysis easy for the HR team. If external data is available, it should be used effectively to compare it with internal data.

Employee development plays a key role in the happiness of an employee. Companies have lots of mechanisms to keep collecting regular feedback. In the absence of a system, the HR department struggles to do this analysis. The employee grievance redressal can then get delayed, leading to attrition.

Thus, when we look at the HR function, we can easily see the huge challenges the function faces and how a good consultant can make lives easy and do their bit in helping the organization grow.
