Understanding the Business Process

Jim decided to meet few people in AWC and understand more about their business. Considering that the initial phase is about implementing BI (business intelligence) for sales, Jim decided to focus on sales operations. Jim got to know that AWC is both business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) organization. In simple terms, it sells to:

  • Retails stores
  • Directly to individuals

The customers or individuals can buy the products of AWC by:

  • Visiting the retail stores
  • Directly buying online via e-commerce portal

Though bulk of the orders come from retail stores, the company is looking at increasing the sales from online and e-commerce portal. His understanding after reading Mr. Ken Sanchez's interview got confirmed after speaking to few people of AWC about their expansion plans.
